Firestone to Implement Small Water Rate Increase in 2012

The Town of Firestone will put before the Board of Trustees at the Nov. 9 meeting a proposal to increase water rates for Firestone residents by 3.5 percent in 2012. The rates go into effect Jan. 1, 2012.

This increase was determined after the Town completed a Water Rate Study that looked at water conversation needs for the future. The study allowed staff to create a cash flow projection to determine a rate structure that included future projects, including Northern Integrated Supply Project (N.I.S.P.), 1.5-MG water tank and meter system upgrades.
