Detective Nate Morton Promoted to Sergeant with Firestone Police Department

Nate Morton with the Firestone Police Department has been promoted to sergeant from his previous position as detective. While he will remain part of the investigations team, Morton will assist in the patrolling of Firestone as a sergeant.

Morton joined the Firestone Police Department in January 2006, serving as a detective. His primary duties are serving as the department’s only forensic interviewer, supervising sex offenders and the property/evidence room, investigate felony and serious misdemeanor cases, work with the Weld County District Attorney’s Office on cases and serve as a sniper with the Weld County Swat Team.

Firestone Chief of Police David Montgomery said Morton will be the Town’s first Detective Sergeant.
