Sergeant Neal Lucero Recognized at July 28 Firestone Board Meeting
Firestone Police Department Sergeant Neal Lucero was honored at the July 28, 2011 Firestone Board of Trustees meeting for his actions during a house fire on July 4, 2011.
Lucero received the Medal of Valor from Firestone Police Chief David Montgomery for helping to evacuate two families and pets from burning homes in Frederick. In addition, he was given a commendation by the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District presented by Fire Marshall Dave Puccetti.
Lucero had just gone off duty and discovered the fire on his way home at 4895 Wren Court and 4897 Wren Court in Frederick. He immediately evacuated residents in the burning homes, as well as threatened homes with the assistance of local residents.
