Bill Peterson Leaves Firestone Planning and Zoning Commission
Leave opens position for Firestone resident to serve on the
Planning and Zoning Commission
Bill Peterson, the current chairman of the Firestone Planning and Zoning Commission, has stepped down from his position on the board because of a personal move outside of the Town of Firestone. He was recognized for his dedication to the commission at the September 21, 2011, meeting at Town Hall. Peterson has been an active member of the Firestone community and has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission since September 2009.
The Firestone Planning Commission is a seven-member commission that recommends to the Town Board of Trustees a master plan for the development of the Town. They also serve as the Zoning Commission and prepare regulations designed to lessen congestion in the streets; to secure safety from fire, panic, and other dangers; to promote health and general welfare, to provide adequate light and air, to prevent the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other public requirements.
Peterson’s resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission creates an opening for an interested candidate. Those interested should send a letter of interest to Mayor Chad Auer, PO Box 100, Firestone, CO 80520, or email cauer@ci.firestone.co.us.
