Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening for the New Burger King in Firestone
On February 6, 2010 Burger King held its ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of its new restaurant in Firestone. The new Burger King is located along Firestone Boulevard, just east of I-25 in front of the new Home Depot store. Ken and Elena Donahue, through their Ocedon Companies, are the franchise owners and operators. As shown in the photographs of the event, Mayor Chad Auer, Trustee Darrell Walsh and Town Manager Wes LaVanchy attended the ribbon cutting on behalf of the Town. The new Burger King restaurant has drive through capabilities; indoor seating that accommodates 111 customers and outdoor seating for seasonal use. From an economic development standpoint Mayor Auer was quoted as saying: “In these tough economic times, it is great to see companies like Burger King continue to grow in Firestone. When they came to Firestone, they wanted to get through the development review process quickly and we are pleased to report that their final plans were processed in less than four weeks. That type of processing speed reflects well on the quality of the Burger King organization, the Firestone Planning Commission and the Town Board. It is clear, Firestone is truly open for business.” Photo Gallery
