4th at Firestone to Celebrate 10 Years in 2012
Fireworks, a carnival, parade, food, music and fun will all be a part of a full day of events for the entire family at the 10th Annual 4th at Firestone on July 4, 2012.
The festivities will kick off with a dynamic parade that will weave its way from old Frederick High School through Old Town Firestone to Miners Park for the celebration. Expect to see classic cars, floats, horses, honor guard and other unique vehicles in the parade.
The main event will include live music, vendor booths, food and fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Miners Park, 226 Grant Ave., in Firestone, with the carnival set up directly south of Safeway. The carnival runs Friday through Wednesday with various hours each day.
Event attendees can expect to find a variety of vendors and activities set up along Grant Avenue to visit throughout the day, including a showcase of business, children, nonprofit and art vendors; delicious food items; a climbing wall; inflatable jumps; petting zoo and pony rides; bubble tower; face painting; caricature artist; balloon artist; mini golf; carnival-style games; and horseshoes.
New to the festival this year is a Car and Motorcycle Show & Shine where classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles can be viewed in detail. Special presentations of dance and martial arts will be sprinkled throughout the day’s activities.
At 12:30 p.m., join the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9741 and the American Legion Post 1985 and 32 in the presentation of colors, veteran’s recognition, the singing of the national anthem, parade awards and a flyover by the Colorado National Guard.
Outstanding live entertainment throughout the day will include Santana tribute band Soul Sacrifice at 11 a.m., up and coming country artist Megan Redmond at 1 p.m., and the vocal styling of The Wendy Woo Band at 2:30 p.m. Attendees will also be able to come back out to the park in the evening for a concert in the park from The Country Music Project at 7:30 p.m. before a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at Saddleback Golf Club.
